English Language Requirements
All international students are required to provide evidence of satisfying the University's English language requirements.

Requirements from IELTS, TOEFL & WCA English courses
IELTS tests are conducted in most countries. You should arrange to forward to UOW an original copy of your IELTS Test Report form. Students undertaking the TOEFL test should arrange for Princeton to forward their official Score Report to UOW, using the institution code 9799. The English test must have been taken within two years of commencement of study at UOW.
The tables below show the English language requirements for those completing IELTS, TOEFL, or a Wollongong College Australia (WCA) English language course.
Standard English Language Requirements
Table 1:
Minimum English language requirements for all courses not listed in Tables 2 and 3 below, including WCA 2-Session Diplomas. (Visit the WCA website for requirements of other WCA academic programs.)

Overall score of 6.0 plus the following band scores:
6.0 in reading and writing;
5.0 in listening and speaking |

550 (Paper) or 213 (Computer) with a 4.0 TWE/Essay Rating; or

- 17 in Listening and

* Students may be admitted to a Graduate Certificate in Transnational Crime Prevention, a Master of Transnational Crime Prevention, a Master of Maritime Studies, or a Master of Laws (International and Comparative Law) with an overall IELTS score of 6.0, but will be required to enrol concurrently in the subject English for Academic Studies in addition to the course requirements.
